Iranian Dance and Ritual (Lecture & Performance) In-Person

Learn about the origins and practice of Iranian dance in this talk and performance by Dr. Farima Berenji. She will discuss Iranian rituals and beliefs in relation to dance, as well as how Iranian culture has impacted global music and dance traditions. Follow along as Dr. Berenji guides the audience through basic dance moves.

Dr. Farima Berenji is a distinguished world-renowned scholar, and has a Postdoctoral degree in theory of healing through ancient Iranic rituals and spirituality. Her academic journey is marked by many different achievements, and she has been recognized as one of the foremost global scholars in Eastern mysticism and ethnochoreology. Her upcoming book Companions of the Sun explores the origins of Iranian/Persian dance and mysticism.

There will be a short performance and audience participation dance as part of the program.

This event will be held in our Program Room. Registration is not required.
