Sunnyvale Record Club Online
Join us for a discussion of a musical album or topic! First, we pick the music ahead of the meeting. You can listen on your own or wait until the meeting to hear it for the first time. Then, we gather in Zoom and listen to the music together. We share our thoughts on the tracks, the artists and broader issues in music and the music industry. Sounds cool, right?
This month we will be discussing Motown! Motown is a musical style named after the Detroit record company that popularized it in the 60s and 70s. How did a small record company start a music movement and grow to be one of the most successful Black-owned businesses in American history? We will listen to iconic tracks and discuss the music, the history and the business of Motown.
Stream our Motown playlist on Spotify or YouTube.
Sunnyvale Record Club meets on the third Monday of each month.
