Sunnyvale Record Club

Sunnyvale Record Club Online

Join us for a discussion of a musical album or topic! First, we pick the music ahead of the meeting. You can listen on your own or wait until the meeting to hear it for the first time. Then, we gather in Zoom and listen to the music together. We share our thoughts on the tracks, the artists and broader issues in music and the music industry. Sounds cool, right?

This month we will be discussing bhangra and Punjabi pop music! Bhangra is a style of pop music originating from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. It is characterized by upbeat drums and traditional South Asian instruments, often in combination with genres such as reggae, synthpop and hip-hop. We will listen to and discuss tracks from the bhangra genre, as well as other tracks by Punjabi pop artists.

Stream our Bhangra & Punjabi Pop playlist on Spotify or YouTube.

Sunnyvale Record Club meets on the third Monday of each month.
