Virtual Reading Buddies

Virtual Reading Buddies is a free reading program for Santa Clara County students in grades 1-5. Teen volunteers will be available by appointment only to help build reading skills and reader confidence. Children do not need to provide reading material during their session. A selection of children e-books in different reading levels will be provided for children during the session to use.

Registration is required for each individual session and spaces are limited. Children are allowed to sign-up for 1- 30 minute session per day and must provide their own device, have internet access, and be willing to use their video during their Reading Buddies session. Adult caregivers will also be required to be nearby in case there are any technological difficulties. 

There will be a Holiday Break from Feb. 21 - Feb. 23 and Apr. 18 - Apr. 20. Spring session will conclude on Wed. May 11 2022. 

For any questions and concerns or if you would like to share anything regarding your child's reading level or interests, please email rtuakoi@sunnyvale.ca.gov with VIRTUAL READING HELP in the subject line by 2 p.m. the day of your scheduled session.
