Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods: Author Talk with Liz Carlisle In-Person
Join us for a celebration of perennial foods! Santa Clara University Sustainable Food Systems Program Manager Becca Nelson will moderate a conversation with author Liz Carlisle about her new co-edited book Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods. Living Roots makes the case for putting perennial foods at the center of our farms and our plates to add flavor and nutrients to our diets while reducing emissions and making our food system more resilient to climate change and economic uncertainty.
Liz Carlisle is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Studies Program at UC Santa Barbara, where she teaches courses on food and farming. She is the co-editor, with Aubrey Streit Krug, of the new book Living Roots: The Promise of Perennial Foods.
Becca Nelson is the Sustainable Food Systems Program Manager at Santa Clara University, running the half acre campus organic garden.
