Identity Lab: Essay-writing in the College Process In-Person
Carolyn Siegel brings nearly two decades of experience in education to her work. She holds three master’s degrees, including her most recent in Educational Leadership. Carolyn currently serves as a college counselor at a private school and is the CEO and Founder of Decoding America, an organization dedicated to empowering students through identity-driven college counseling.
During Identity Lab, students will reflect on their identity, perspective and lived experiences through collaborative activities and guided prompts to prepare for essay-writing in the college process. The Common App personal statement is the primary focus, and attendees will also gain strategies directly applicable to UC personal interest questions. There will also be a Question & Answer session for questions on Common App and UC applications. After the workshop, each student will receive a brief report with feedback and ideas for next steps.

This program is intended for high school seniors or recent graduates currently applying to college.
Registration is required. Space is limited. This workshop will also take place on Monday, November 17.
