SVR: Children's Essay Contest

Write an essay for a chance to win a prize! Your essay must answer the prompt and follow the guidelines listed below. For children in grades 3-5 only.

Prompt:

Journey into your future: How do you envision your life in the future? Write about career goals, friends & family, and where you see yourself living. 

Guidelines:

  • All entries must be received no later than Tuesday, Feb. 28
  • To submit: Drop off a copy of your essay and an entry form to the Children's Information Desk or email a digital copy to khuerta@sunnyvale.ca.gov with subject line "Essay Contest"
  • All entries must be accompanied by an entry form found attached below
  • Stories must be no longer than 2 pages, double-spaced. They may be shorter
  • Writers must be in grades 3-5
  • One entry per writer
  • Stories are judged based on originality, creativity, and presentation and mechanics

3 lucky winners will receive a $25 Target gift card. Winners will be notified via email on Friday, March 10.
